President's Message

Welcome to Oklahoma PTA’s website!

Did you know that Oklahoma PTA is the oldest and largest child advocacy association in the state? We became a State PTA in 1922 and we are still here advocating for the children of Oklahoma. 

Oklahoma PTA represents over 62,000 members and welcomes any and every one to join. Why is this important? With all of the challenges and issues that our students have to deal with on a daily base, they are in need of all of our support. I truly believe in the old saying, “It takes a village to raise a child”.  PTA is that village with parents, guardians, teachers, principals, superintendents, community leaders and many more joining in working together as a team to make a difference in children’s lives.

Your 34 Board of Directors of OKPTA are volunteers from across the state that represents you in Oklahoma City and Washington D.C. We are in your communities working diligently to educate everyone all with the concerns/issues affecting our students. 

I am a very proud card member of thirty-three PTA’s throughout our state and also in Missouri and Arkansas. Membership is very important no matter where you are from.  Being a PTA member is an echoing voice in the ears of our Legislators.

With that being said, there is no better time than now to be a leader and advocate for students’ education. OKPTA is your one-stop resource in providing state and local needs for your PTA.

Take your time on our website.  Get to know us and learn about advocating through PTA. We are a great association full of many wonderful accomplishments.
